Held: Navigating the Journey into M/otherhood is a 5-week series of gatherings incorporating yoga, somatic exercises, reflective writing, and conversation to help those in the first tender years of motherhood to restore, reclaim, orient and integrate in the face of this dynamic life transition.
New parenthood is challenging as it is, and society’s expectations when it comes to m/others’ bodies, careers, and relationships magnify that challenge. Part gentle yoga, part women’s circle, this series will use Jessie Harrold’s Four Elements of Radical Transformation as a foundation to understand the matrescence journey and will take an embodied approach to rebuilding the lost art of “the village”.
This series is for anyone who is a parent and is facing the social pressures of m/otherhood regardless of gender, sexual orientation, or genetic connection to their child. “New parents” typically applies to those with any children under five years old, but the series is open to those at any stage of parenting who are curious about how motherhood impacts and changes us.
